Capstone project topic is different in each year, for 2021 topic is creating prototype for Prism, a brand service under Pomelo.

Background
Prism is a integrated commerce platform or a brand service under Pomelo. Let me give you an example Pomelo. have its own studio to shoot the products so they’re thinking about letting other brands to use our studio too. Prism is consist of many services likes Creative, marketing, trading and merchandising, core commerce, data analytics and Global logistics.So our topic for this year is to create a software as a service(“Saas”) prototype for Prism by choosing one or more of Prism services. There is 9 interns in my group including myself and we are all from different departments. We have around 4 weeks (1 month) to finish from stratch to working prototype.
Empathize​
We spend first week trying to understand the brief and Prism. Some of our team have no idea on UXUI or design process. We’re trying to make it happen asap by not totally understanding the core or process so the end of the first week we suffer from that. Creating something that we have no evidence or no lucid plan can be super confusing. In week 2, we have to start our new plan.

Since our users are 3rd party brands, they might not willing to give their inventories to Pomelo. ,they’re afraid their product is not sold out.

We come up with Influencer marketing since higher revenue comes from reaching more potential customer. Using KOL or influencers is one of the most impactful way for brand awareness with Prism you can connect with famous influencers. Our 8 years of experiences you can relied on us. We use data-driven matching model or you can check our wellknown hashtag over social media #pomelogirls.

Marketing service (Influencers)
Imagine you are Girlyberry’ s brand owner from France, you would like to target Thai customers using influencers but you have little idea on how you should do. Who would be the most suitable influencer for your products?
or Imagine you are a Som-O brand. Mai Davika’s style just matches with your customers and new collection, but you have no connection with her. Khun Nam Som claims herself as Davika’s manager and ask for 50% deposit. How do you know that Khun Nam som really have a connection with Davika? but with our Prism’s service we can help you with that in trustworthy and professional way.

Low fidelity prototype
Our special feature "Magic Matching model"
Basically we would match the information that we get from brands together with the information that we get from influencers. The priority is the objective of the brands who are using our services. The objectives, which include awareness, engagement, and conversion, would be matched with numbers of followers, engagement, or past performance of influencers, respectively within brands' budget. While the top priority is the objective, we take other factors into consideration. For example, campaign duration of brands will be matched with the availability of influencers. Style of brands will be matched with style of influencers (e.g. sporty, cute). Other factors that we consider for matching are gender, customer target, platform, and country.
Since the criteria is the design and aesthetics of Prism have to stay on brand with Pomelo. as a UI leader this is quite challenging to give feeling of New service but keep the identity of Pomelo. Although our app users are mostly brands that use for serious business but we want to make it user-friendly and eye pleasing. Make sure that when users come use our app still feel the sense of Pomelo.
High fidelity prototype
Before Presenting day the prototype I get a chance to show the project to Pomelo. UX/UI designer-Sara Bermudez. She gives us lots of tricks on presenting the prototype and also suggests better idea for the pop-up UI.
Pop up change to Bottom Sheet
We do a lot of Pop up box in our app and she said that sometimes pop up doesn’t enhance user future move since it acts like something that block the action. She suggests the thing call Botton sheet instead.

She also suggests that while presenting if pretending to be the user, it is easier for audience to understand because we act as their point of view as the first time seeing the prototype. I’m a presenter of the prototype, if I present it good, this will show of our hard working but if not it is just another prototype so this is quite a challenge for me. We rehearse 3 days before the D-day. Finally the hard work really paid off, our group get the prize of Popular vote!
