Background
I have to create a publication that go along with famous designer's style of work that I get from luckydraw in class. I got David Pearson as a designer, he is a book cover designer for Penguin Publication. I have to do research about him and his works in order to create this project. This project is super challenging but fun.
Process
Research on his works
First Draft of the publication
After do a lot of research I find out that he has so many styles and he uses lots of typography in his works so when recreating the publication this make it looks messy and no identity. I really struggle with fonts and and the styles so I email him and he reply to me! This is so exciting since I spend almost a month research about him ,I'm like his fanclub and he answer my email!
Concept
I choose his famous work “The Great ideas” series Vol.1. to be my inspiration.

The blibiography of David Pearson. A famous book cover designer for Penguin publication. This is zine that can unfold to be A2 poster that have the designer’s quote. I was inspired by his famous work “The Great ideas” series Vol.1.
Since David Pearson is a book cover designer so I decide that I have to also design the zine to be book-alike.
After unfold the book what you will see inside is my favourite quote of David Pearson that I find while reading through his interview and bibliography"You have to keep people looking, that is your challenge"
